Summary

DMC is currently looking for Alimak Raise Miners, to join our team on a contract basis, based in Sudbury, ON. The Alimak Raise Miner will be required to maintain and construct underground installations and will specialize in handheld drill operations.

Responsibilities

- Constructs and maintains underground installations/work platforms.

- Scaling loose rock, drilling, loading, and blasting rock.

- Read, interpret, and follow mine plans in a safe manner.

- Follows rules related to safety standards and practices reporting any unsafe acts or conditions to a Supervisor.

- Ensures proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment.

- Conducts pre-start checks of work area and equipment.

- Practices good housekeeping (maintaining a clean work area, storage of materials and spare parts).

- Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications

- Ontario Basic Common Core Modules (770010).

- Ontario Common Core Specialty Modules for Alimak Raise U0064.

- 2-5 years’ experience as an Alimak Raise Miner.

- Sound knowledge, skills, and experience in operation of machinery.

- Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

- Proven ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

- Able to work a rotation of day and night shifts.

Working Environment

- Working in a mining, industrial setting.

- Travel to work site locations.

- Site conditions may include outdoors, dark, wet, inclement weather, and uneven ground.

- Sitting or standing for prolonged periods of time.

- Vehicle - passenger or driver.

- Comfortable working at heights.

Additional Information

- We are hiring to fill an existing vacancy.

- Hourly Range is expected to be between: $24 to $28 CAD + hourly incentive bonus.
