- Applicants must have housing accommodations or transportation in Calgary, as Precision does notprovide internship housing.

- By May 4, 2026, applicants must have completed at least their first year of study in a post-secondary program/Technical Institute (see job posting).



Summary

The AI Innovation Intern is responsible for supporting Precision’s efforts to evaluate, develop, and implement artificial intelligence (AI) and automation solutions that enhance operational efficiency, customer experience, employee services, and data-informed decision-making. This intermediate role focuses on assisting with AI research, AI chatbots and agents, exploring and implementing off-the-shelf AI solutions, developing AI solutions, and supporting practical AI use cases across the company while ensuring compliance with ethical, legal, and transparency standards.



Responsibilities

- Identify and assess opportunities to use AI, automation, and data‑driven tools.

- Support development and deployment of AI models, chatbots, and automated workflows.

- Research, test, and evaluate AI technologies for suitability and impact.

- Assist with AI governance, compliance, and implementation of Precision’s AI framework.

- Maintain transparent, ethical, and privacy‑compliant documentation for AI projects.

- Ensure AI solutions meet information security, confidentiality, and cybersecurity standards.

- Prepare and organize structured/unstructured data for AI and automation systems.

- Support user adoption through demos, documentation, and basic training on AI tools.

- Collaborate with departments to gather requirements, identify use cases, and support communication.

- Manage and update AI‑enabled web or intranet tools (e.g., chatbots), ensuring content accuracy and usability.


Knowledge & Skills

The candidate should be a self-starter who can function in an autonomous role while collaborating with all internal departments and teams.

Intermediate understanding of artificial intelligence, automation, and emerging technologies.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.


Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.

Basic understanding of programming or scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.

Familiarity with cloud-based AI services (e.g., Microsoft Azure AI, Google AI, or OpenAI API).

Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

A proactive, curious, and self-motivated approach to technology and innovation.



Education

Pursuing or recently graduated from a Post-Secondary Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI Engineering, or a related degree, plus one year of experience in a related field, is required.



Experience

CompTIA Data+ or CompTIA AI Essentials or Azure AI Engineer Associate
