Intern Responsibilities

- Develop ML and deep learning models in Python (PyTorch/TensorFlow/Scikit-learn).

- Analyze engineering and construction datasets (structured and unstructured).

- Build NLP/document tools for drawings, specifications, EPOM docs, and regulatory files.

- Prototype AI for QA/QC automation, safety evaluations, and decision support.

- Collaborate with SMEs in nuclear, transmission, structural, and data center engineering.

- Assist in LLM/SLM experimentation, prompt engineering, and RAG optimization.

What are skills that would be helpful to your success as an intern?

- Graduating with a bachelor’s or master’s degree from an ABET- accredited school in one of our listed preferred majors.

- Preferred grad date between December 2026 and May 2027.

- Available to start internship during our main cohort of May 18, 2026.

- A solid working foundation with your major’s core concepts.

- Proficiency in Python and ML fundamentals.

- Familiarity with PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, or Hugging Face.

- Excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills.

- Experience with Azure ML / Azure AI Services and LLM/RAG architecture.

- Exposure to nuclear, utilities, EPC, or data center engineering contexts.

- Background in optimization, controls, signal processing, or simulation tools (MATLAB/ANSYS/ETAP).

- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.

- Ability to effectively problem solve.

- Must be able to climb stairs and ladders at client sites.

- Must be able to effectively navigate client sites to conduct walkdowns.

- Must be able to work outside.

- Ability and willingness to travel for client and company projects and/or meetings.

Interview And Employment Requirements

- Completion of pre interview assessments.

- College transcript submitted for anyone under 1 year of experience post-graduation.

- Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings, ENERCON and client-specific background checks, and annual motor vehicle record (MVR) checks according to company and client policies.

- ENERCON does not provide sponsorship now or in the future.

The hourly range for this internship is $24-$28/hour. Salary ranges are determined by a combination of role, level, experience, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
