The
Corporate Affairs Administrative Assistant
provides support to the Vice President, Public Policy and Government Relations and works closely with the broader Corporate Affairs team across government relations, stakeholder engagement, communications, and community impact. This role is responsible for managing calendars, coordinating daily activities, and supporting departmental planning and communications.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills with the ability to stay ahead of shifting priorities, anticipate needs, and communicate with confidence and clarity. The ideal candidate brings political and policy awareness, is detail oriented, takes initiative, and demonstrates an ability to manage complex scheduling and competing priorities.
Major Responsibilities•Provide daily administrative support to the Vice President, including calendar support, email management, meeting preparation, and end of day briefings.
•Manage departmental logistics such as travel bookings, professional memberships, IT requirements, onboarding of new team members and engagement initiatives.
•Coordinate meetings and team events from planning to execution. Including preparing agendas, taking minutes, tracking action items, and arranging follow-ups.
•Draft, proofread and edit presentations, correspondence, submissions, briefing notes and other documents.
•Support internal coordination across Corporate Affairs including communications with other teams and leaders.
•Conduct research to support meetings and project planning. Maintain project files and correspondence tracking.
•Prepare and reconcile departmental budgets, track expenses, process purchase orders, and support vendor relationships.
•Identify and implement process improvements and provide support for adopting new technologies and systems.
•May include occasional travel to Edmonton.
Education Required
•High School Diploma or G.E.D required
•Post-secondary education in government relations/public policy or business administration
Qualifications & Experience
•8+ years of administrative experience, with at least 5 years supporting senior leadership.
•Proven experience in a fast-paced, results-driven office environment.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and take initiative.
•Understanding of and genuine curiosity in public policy, political landscapes, or government processes is an asset.
•Experience in coordinating projects and delivering customer service
•Familiarity with AI tools and technologies is an asset.
•High level of professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information.
•Previous experience supporting leaders in the utility industry is an asset.

This role will be part of our hybrid (home and office) work force with office workspace located at ENMAX Place (141 - 50th Avenue SE, Calgary, AB). You will work from home on Mondays and Fridays and in the office on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
