The Account Application Coordinator is responsible for the posting and balancing of all incoming payments to the proper customer accounts on a daily basis. This individual identifies and resolves payment discrepancies and contacts customers as required.
The main duties of this role will include but are not limited to the following:
- Daily preparation, posting, and reconciliation of all daily deposits from various sources; including cheques and electronic deposits through Lockbox payments.
- Works with all divisions to apply all payments to the appropriate customer accounts and invoices, using customer remittances.
- Responsible for maintaining the direct deposit inbox for customer remittance notices.
- Posting appropriate adjustments, reversal of adjustments, and transfers between accounts upon request.
- Responsible for maintaining the archiving of payment remittance notices.
- Responsible for logging and reporting of returned items.
- Responsible for cash application reporting on a weekly basis.
- Responsible for processing pre-authorized payments and credit card files.
- Acts as liaison between the Treasury and the Accounts Receivable Departments.
- Assists the Credit Specialists with calls and collections when required.
- Maintains professional integrity and demonstrates exceptional customer service when discussing account information with customers and divisional offices.
- Post-secondary education in accounting or finance.
- 2+ years’ experience in a customer service/clerical role is required.- High degree of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Suites.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal, written, and on the telephone.
- Ability to multi-task, and juggle competing deadlines and multiple priorities.
- Experience with ADDs and PDI software is an asset, though not essential.
- The salary range for this role is between $55,000-$58,000 per year. Salaries are based on years of relevant experience and education.
