Access Control Officer

We are seeking a reliable and observant Access Control Officer to support the security and operational integrity of our facility in Sweetwater, TN. This role focuses on managing access points, monitoring surveillance and security systems, and ensuring that only authorized personnel are granted entry and exit. The ideal candidate is alert, respectful, and capable of using security technology effectively.

Key Responsibilities

- Access Control Operations: Monitor and operate electronic access control systems to validate credentials and control entry/exit at secured areas.

- Camera Surveillance: Observe live CCTV footage to detect unauthorized or suspicious behavior; report and respond promptly to incidents.

- Employee Screening: Conduct screenings of employees and contractors at entry and exit points, which may include badge checks, visual inspections, or verbal clearance procedures.

- Visitor & Vendor Management: Greet and verify visitors, issue temporary badges, and ensure proper sign-in/sign-out procedures are followed.

- Patrol Duties: Perform regular inspections of facility grounds, parking areas, and critical zones to ensure a safe and secure environment.

- Incident Documentation: Accurately document all noteworthy activity, including unauthorized access attempts, safety hazards, and rule violations.

- Emergency Response: Act quickly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations following established procedures.

- Policy Enforcement: Enforce organizational safety, security, and access control policies consistently and respectfully.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent (required)

- Prior experience with access control systems, CCTV monitoring, or personnel screening is highly preferred

- Excellent situational awareness, professionalism, and communication skills

- Ability to operate basic computer systems and digital security platforms

- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocol

Additional Requirements

- Must pass a criminal background check and drug screening

- Physically capable of standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods

- Flexible availability for all shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
