Weatherization Specialist

The Company:

MGM Energy is a contractor specializing in HVAC, plumbing, energy conservation, and electrical services. We also participate in the Energy Saving Assistance Program sponsored by Southern California Edison, Southern California Gas Company, Southwest Gas, and Bear Valley Electric.

Job description

The Weatherization ESA Specialist requires a minimum of two years of experience installing energy-saving measures for the Energy Saving Assistance Program (ESAP).

Responsibilities and Duties

- Must have one year of experience working in energy conservation programs or similar trades.

- Complete certification training and any other required training.

- Install energy-saving measures as part of the company’s home improvement and weatherization programs.

- Conduct structural installations of energy-saving measures in customers’ homes, apartments, and mobile homes.

- Must have two years of experience installing window evaporative coolers, window room air conditioners, interior and exterior fixtures, home appliances, and smart thermostats.

- Report to appointments on time and be prepared.

- Maintain accurate customer records, files, forms, and work orders.

- Stay updated on program requirements and standards.

- Maintain a positive relationship with customers, staff, and utility company representatives.

- Participate in routine meetings, workshops, and training as directed by the Supervisor.

- Uphold the company's excellent image while on company time.

- Prepare job sites by implementing weatherization-safe work practices.

- Clean up job sites using proper disposal methods.

- Provide hands-on training to weatherization apprentices/installers at work sites.

- Install weather-stripping and sealing measures.

- Perform glass/window repair and replacement.

- Apply glaze, caulk, and silicone.

- Install smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

- Install water-saving devices.

- Install energy-efficient appliances.

- Other related program duties as assigned.

Requirements:

- Must have an active California Driver’s License

- Clean Driving Record

- Reliable transportation

- Ability to lift over 70lb

- Must be able to wear all PPE and safety devices assigned per project

- Must have strong communication skills

- Must have basic computer skills

- Solid math skills

- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus

- Must pass a 7-year criminal background check

- Must pass a drug test

The Location:

Bakersfield, CA

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 7:00am-4:00 pm overtime as needed.

Compensation:

$60,000-$85,000 per year
