Position Overview:
The Vice President of Operation is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing all aspects of project execution and field operations at Constructable. The position ensures alignment with Constructable’s Faster-Times-To-Operations brand promise, with a strong focus on safety, quality, financial performance, and timely project delivery. Reporting to the CEO, the VP of Operations will lead Constructable’s Project Meeting Operating System, drive operational efficiency, and foster a culture of transparency, accountability, and results across teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
•Align field operations with Constructable’s strategic vision, values and growth objectives.
•Coordinate and manage the Project Meeting Operating System, ensuring team accountability and clarity of outcomes.
•Develop and execute strategies to optimize project schedules and budgets, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction.
Financial Oversight
•Review project schedules and budgets regularly to ensure alignment with financial objectives.
•Oversee Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, cost controls, and change orders.
•Drive financial accountability across field teams, ensuring profitable project execution.
Team Leadership & Development
•Lead and mentor Senior Project Managers, Project Managers, and General Superintendent, fostering collaboration and communication.
•Oversee training and development initiatives for field teams, ensuring alignment with Constructable’s standards.
•Encourage cross-departmental cooperation between field and office teams.
Operational Excellence
•Drive operational efficiency by standardizing processes and destroying adherence to Constructable’s Project Meeting Operating System.
•Implement KPIs to track progress and drive accountability across all project teams.
•Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to Constructable’s quality standards.
•Proactively identify and mitigate operational risks.
Safety & Quality Leadership
•Promote a culture of safety and quality, enforcing compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
•Regularly monitor safety performance and quality metrics, ensuring continuous improvement.
•Address safety and quality issues proactively, implementing corrective actions as needed.
Resource Optimization
•Allocate and manage resources effectively, balancing workloads, project needs, and rotations across teams.
•Ensure appropriate staffing levels and personnel development to meet operational demands.
Continuous Improvement
•Champion process improvement, technology adoption, and innovative practices to enhance field operations.
•Develop and track KPIs to drive accountability and performance across teams.
Stakeholder Engagement
•Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
•Serve as the primary escalation point for resolving critical project challenges.
•Act as the primary point of contact for clients during project execution, ensuring client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration or related field (master’s degree preferred).
•10+ years of progressive leadership experience in construction project management and field operations, with a proven track record in large-scale or complex projects, preferably in design-build or industrial construction.
•Strong ability to lead, mentor, and drive accountability within high-performing teams.
•Proven ability to navigate challenges, manage risk, and implement operational solutions in complex and remote projects.
•Expertise in financial oversight, WIP reporting, and cost control measures to optimize profitability.
•Exceptional ability to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure operational success.
