Executes Marine Design, Shipbuilding management and Business Development services. Experience and expertise in business development, contract management, management of design, operation and construction of offshore marine transportation and government vessels. Provides expertise in the management and arrangement of shipyard, ship operations, ship design, and marine equipment design and manufacturing facilities, including marketing, personnel, financial and cost center management, cost estimating, supervision, budgeting, cash flow management, teaming, proposal development, capture, and business processes.
Supervise program managers, project engineers and business development team.
Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering from an accredited college or university. Other engineering disciplines will be considered based on applicants’ maritime work history.
25+ years of relevant experience or matching experiences, duties and responsibilities from current or previous roles. U.S. Citizen and ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance required. Advanced engineering or management degree, Professional Engineer (PE) license and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
Excellent communication skills are essential for this position. In addition to the qualifications already identified, the ability to read, analyze and interpret policies, contracts, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical bulletins and government regulations is a plus for this role. The ability to write reports and business correspondence is also a requirement as is the ability to effectively deliver oral presentations and to respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, clients and suppliers. Job success often hinges upon interpersonal communication and relationship development skills, and job tasks require frequent interchange and successful completion depends in large part upon effective interaction and communication with others.
Position requires the ability to calculate figures and work with fractions and percentages, as well as to apply concepts such as ratios, probability, statistical inference and proportions to practical situations.
Position requires the ability to hear normal conversation, see near objects and speak clearly. Occasionally may participate in a field trip to a job site which requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Lifting up to 25 pounds unassisted may be required.
Normally will work in an office environment, but occasionally may visit a construction site in an operating plant with proximity to operating machinery and exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
