KMC specializes in high-performance alloys and friction materials from raw materials to finished products under one roof in Orillia, Canada. Manufacturing unique heat resistant alloys and high nickel/chrome alloys primarily for the petrochemical industries, Kubota leads the industry in quality and advanced technology. As per customer requirements, Kubota designs and casts centrifugal pipes and static castings of fittings which are then machined, welded (Automatic, Semi-Automatic, Orbital & Manual) GTAW, GMAW, SMAW, followed by in house NDT (RT, PT, VT), in house DT, R&D lab, as well as hydro testing.
This position will be responsible for planning, designing and implementing programs for employees and delivering training courses. When necessary, they will coordinate training with third-parties to ensure Kubota’s employees meet all regulations as required. This role involves evaluating the effectiveness of training, provides feedback, will train the trainer and will work with our global partners for effective training solutions.
- Maintain training reports and tracking tools to ensure annual certifications are monitor and schedule retraining when required, before expiry of certification / license to meet regulations and legislations requirements.
- Analyze workforce training trends, identify key organizational learning gaps, design and implement innovative training programs to: address gaps, plan for succession planning, performance evaluations including constructive feedback, cross-functional training across the global organization.
- Manage and optimize the organization’s network of third-party training vendors and industry partners to ensure a robust and agile training pipeline, when necessary.
- Facilitate engaging training sessions virtually and/or in person of employees and trainers of various topics, including but not limited, to WSIB, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO), Performance Evaluations, How to be an Effective Leader, Integrated Management System.
- Coordination of team building exercises within departments to ensure cohesion among organization.
- Maintain continued awareness of all changes to federal and provincial legislation pertaining to labour and employee relations as it relates to training requirements for staff.
- Develop EHS innovative strategies and action plans, in conjunction with the Manager EHS, to ensure compliance with the EHS program as well as government regulations.
- Accurately conduct site audits, analysis compliance to SOPs, and identify gaps in EHS training. Develop innovational improvement plans and then implement the plans to address the training gaps.
- Maintain awareness to changes in health and safety regulations and standards, and develop EHS programs and training in response to regulated changes, as required.
- Maintain compliance with AODA guidelines by ensuring public information is current and in-house training is complete.
- Assist with the development of testing tools for the recruitment process.
- Assist with policy development, as required.
- Maintain personnel training records.
- Provide guidance on the interpretation of the collective agreement.
- Ensure alignment with the overall goals and objectives of Kubota.
- Support the Mission, Vision and Values of Kubota Materials Canada Corporation.
- Other related duties, as required.
- Post-secondary education in a field related to personal management such as: Business Administration, Psychology, Human Resources, and or Education Leadership.
- Minimum 4 years’ experience specializing on training and development, including Occupational Health and Safety, unionized setting preferred.
- Proven experience in delivering engaging and effective health and safety training tailored to diverse industries and employee groups.
- Willingness to complete train-the-trainer courses of various topics and maintain qualifications to deliver training that meets OHSA and safety standards.
- Post-graduate education in Adult Education considered an asset.
- Thorough understanding of Web-based learning technology designed and development.
- Experience in HRMS an asset.
- Thorough knowledge of MS Office programs and Gmail.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong Communication skills both written and verbal.
