This position will lead a team of six information systems analysts to ensure quality data flow for billing, load research, data analytics, and data presentment. Specifically, this position is responsible for overseeing the support of the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and Meter Data Management Systems (MDM), Sensus RNI, Oracle C2M, and MV90XI. This position will also help develop a long-term strategy for supporting new and existing AMI/MDM Systems. Additionally, this position will be responsible for managing relationships with our various internal partners – Metering Services, Customer Service, Marketing, Regulatory and the Technology Organization.
The Team Leader will work with the operations and support teams to ensure servers, routers, operating systems, and databases are monitored daily and reporting data in a timely manner. In general, this position will oversee the resolution of any systemic issues that prevent meter data from flowing through the AMI/MDM systems to destination systems. This position will oversee and develop processes to analyze the daily performance of all meters, ensuring the continuity and quality of data, and monitor the critical billing processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills)
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or information systems is highly preferred (highly technical position)
- Experience:
- Over 7 years of combined experience in Data Analysis, Communications Systems, Metering Services, Information Technology, and/or Distribution Operations.
- Experience communicating complex technical information to leadership across Georgia Power and Southern Company.
- Leading teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
- Knowledge:
- Customer Services billing processes, field services, communications technologies (especially RF systems), metering technologies, and IT systems
- Modern software engineering and data analysis techniques (SQL, Python, .NET,)
- Skills:
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, planning, and project management skills.
- Develop current and future technical subject matter experts through coaching, performance management, and setting clear expectations.
- Lead, persuade, and influence strategic decisions across Operating Companies and the Technology Organization.
- Negotiating with vendors, holding accountable for contractual obligations, and influence product roadmaps.
- Experience in creating strong relationships with management teams across Marketing, Customer Service, Revenue Accounting, Regulatory, Power Delivery, and the Technology Organization.

- Prepare summaries of AMI and MDM support activities and results for GPC management.
- Support of Operations (30%)
- Ensure delivery of meter reads for 2.7M meters monthly via systems like Regional Network Interface (RNI, MV90, C2M-MDM and PME.
- Identify and troubleshoot hardware and software issues that interrupt data flow and implement corrective actions
- Participate in storm response efforts for the AMI network, including outage management, phase detection analytics, and restoration prioritization.
- Provide guidance to SCS/T.O. on appropriate service levels for critical databases, servers, interfaces, and system integrations that are vital to the success of our operation
- Work with the operations to implement tools and processes to address meter and data abnormalities
