Job Summary
The Technical Sales Support Specialist II supports the sales team by providing technical expertise, product knowledge, and customer support during the sales process from within the office environment. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, by supporting the sales process ensuring customer requirements are clearly understood, recommending appropriate solutions and collaborating with engineering and sales teams to close deals efficiently.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for incoming customer inquiries via phone, email, and web.
- Understand customer applications and provide technical product recommendations.
- Prepare and deliver accurate quotations, proposals, and product configurations based on customer specs.
- Collaborate with sales representatives, customer service, and engineering teams to support customer needs and develop strong customer relationships.
- Follow up on quotes and proposals, helping to close sales and achieve revenue targets.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through timely follow-up, clear communications, and issue resolution.
- Maintain a deep understanding of product offerings, applications, and industry use cases.
- Assist in product demonstrations, webinars, and trade shows as needed.
- Support order entry and work with operations to ensure timely delivery of products.
- Support marketing and sales campaigns through outbound follow-ups, email campaigns, and lead nurturing.
- Maintain CRM systems with accurate records of customer interactions and sales activities.
- Other projects and duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in technical sales, sales engineering, or application engineering (preferred).
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to understand and explain complex engineering concepts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Customer-focused and proactive in problem-solving.
