We’re looking for a Technical Support Specialist
who are ready to bring their electrical field experience into a customer-facing role that bridges operations and client success. This position provides technical expertise, estimating support, and troubleshooting for transformer and breaker testing projects. You’ll act as the link between field crews and customers—ensuring technically accurate proposals, efficient scheduling, and reliable support for testing and troubleshooting in real time. If you have hands-on experience in transformer and breaker testing and want to combine it with customer service and project support, this is the role for you.
What You’ll Do
- Review and validate estimates, schedules, and quotes for accuracy and completeness
- Respond to high volumes of customer and field calls, providing technical guidance and troubleshooting support on transformer and breaker testing projects
- Review, analyze, and validate electrical test reports (TTR, megger, winding resistance, power factor)
- Troubleshoot field issues such as transformer leaks or resistance anomalies, recommending corrective actions
- Generate detailed proposals and quotes
- Collaborate with supervisors to plan and schedule upcoming work
- Attend pre-construction and customer meetings
- Maintain strong knowledge of industry-standard processors and equipment
- Apply expertise with transformers from major OEMs
- Support business development by ensuring technical accuracy in proposals and client communications- 5+ years of hands-on transformer and breaker testing experience
- Proven ability to interpret/validate test reports and identify field issues
- Experience in preparing accurate estimates, proposals, and project quotes
- Comfortable supporting high volumes of technical calls and troubleshooting under time constraints
- Familiarity with major transformer OEMs and testing platforms/equipment
- Direct troubleshooting experience on transformer or breaker anomalies in the field
- Strong customer focus with exceptional communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to travel up to 30% throughout the U.S
- High school diploma or GED required
- Must pass background check and pre-employment/random drug tests
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Physically capable of sitting, standing, and performing light tasks with occasional lifting up to 20–50 lbs
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology or related field preferred
- NETA Level II certification (or higher) preferred
- Knowledge of breaker testing procedures and electrical field work is preferred
- Prior customer-facing experience in a technical support or estimating role
