Direct efforts to ensure tanks and piping are cleaned, degassed or rinsed according to project requirements, Kinder Morgan and customer specifications and governmental regulations. Work with Engineering Management, Project Teams, Commercial, Operations and Maintenance Departments to ensure adherence to approved schedules and budgets while always focusing on safety.
- Responsible for scheduling, monitoring and evaluating contractors performing cleaning and degassing work on tanks and other facility assets.
- Assist in monitoring projects on an ongoing basis to ensure projects are completed according to schedule and KM safety requirements and assets are returned to service in a condition suitable for operation.
- Ensure that all cleaning and degassing contractors employed fully embrace KMLT's SQE culture and that this culture is demonstrated consistently in the day to day performance of their work.
- Ensure that all work performed under this position is performed in a safe, efficient, quality and environmentally compliant manner.
- Provide a weekly written report on the status, including schedule and budgets, of all tanks currently planned, scheduled, or have completed cleaning.
- Develop cost matrix by tank size and stored product as a tool for budgeting purposes.
- Prepare bid packages, including scope of work, budget/forecasting, risk analysis, contractor needs, qualification, etc. for potential commercial review prior to start of work..
- Submit Request for Service (RFS) to Procurement for Purchase Order creation.
- Assist in providing Accounting and Finance, the financial impact of jobs including but not limited to: invoice tracking, estimates cost to complete, accruals, and forecasting the project costs.
- Ensure the timely review and approval of invoices, detailed cost tracking and accurate billing to customers.
- Review and approve contractor invoicing to ensure accuracy.
- Work with the appropriate parties to implement standard operating procedures, policies and practices for respective job sites.
- Utilize or develop project specific tools and procedures to streamline and facilitate the successful execution of projects.
- Manage daily activities of Inspectors and Administrative Assistant.
- Strict adherence to the Kinder Morgan SQE culture and Core Values.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Four year degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Environmental Studies, natural science or closely related field is preferred.
- Minimum of Five (5) years of experience working in facilities associated with hazardous liquid.
- Experience dealing with multi-discipline teams in various locations on large and complex projects with short deadlines.
- Familiarity with API, TCEQ and EPA specifications, standards, and recommended practices as they relate to aboveground storage tanks.
