The “Switchgear and Automation Field Service Technician"Field Service Technician has the primary responsibility of supporting and responding to technical customer needs remotely and onsite. This may include frequent travel (> 60%) and after-hours phone support (helpdesk).
The role of the Field Service Technician is to:
• Conduct quality inspections at Kratos facilities and at customer sites as necessary.
• Perform test functions in-house and at customer sites as necessary.
• Assist customers with gear set up and troubleshooting as required.
• Assist with root cause?analysis?to determine reasons for field failures.
• Suggest effective corrective actions to mitigate design and quality related issues.
• Works closely with purchasing to replace field failure components.
• Maintain a safe working environment while performing duties in-house or on customer sites.
• Represent Kratos Industries with a professional demeanor while fostering customer relations.
• Frequent interaction with production, test, quality and engineering personnel
• Provide input for the development and improvement of work instructions
• Onsite support at customer locations will be frequently required.
• After-hours support including weekends may be required, help-desk and/or onsite
• High school diploma or GED equivalent (min requirement)
• Associates degree or 2-year Certificate in a technical discipline (preferred)
• 2 years in a production environment (min requirement)
• Demonstrated work experience in a fast-paced production environment
• Direct work experience in an ISO 9001 work environment (preferred)
• Proficient use of hand tools and test equipment a must
• Must be able to interpret detailed technical schematics and drawings
• Must be computer literate (e.g. basic data entry programs and time entry applications)
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
• Must possess effective and professional communication skills
• Cell phone stipend of $80.00 a month
Eligible
• This position is a direct report to the Director of Quality.
• Travel (in state, out of state) may be required a minimum of 60% of the time.
• A written and / or practical skills assessment may be required of the successful applicant.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent (min requirement)
• Associates degree or 2-year Certificate in a technical discipline (preferred)
• Electrical Journeyman License in the State of Colorado (highly desirable)
• 2 years in a production environment (min requirement)
