Role Summary/Purpose
Leadership and Partnership in a People-Centered Organization:
•Partner with leadership to foster a people-centered organization using Lean/TPS principles.
•As a skilled practitioner of Lean/TPS, drive continuous improvement and support teams in applying these principles for operational success.
•Mentor value stream teams, promoting collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the supply chain.
Strategic Supply Chain Leadership:
•Lead the development and execution of supply chain strategies, ensuring alignment with Lean/TPS principles to optimize material flow throughout the value stream.
•Ensure materials are available at the right time and in the right quantity while minimizing inventory and maintaining smooth production operations.
•Apply Lean/TPS to eliminate waste and enhance operational efficiency, contributing to the business’s performance and cost-effectiveness.
Demand Forecasting and Inventory Optimization:
•Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and develop inventory plans that meet production needs while minimizing excess material.
•Utilize Lean/TPS tools to optimize inventory levels and streamline the flow of materials, ensuring efficient production and customer satisfaction.
•Partner with value stream leaders to refine inventory management processes, reduce variability, and enhance material availability.
Inventory Management Excellence:
•Oversee inventory management processes in collaboration with value stream supply chain leads, ensuring alignment with Lean/TPS principles.
•Implement process improvements, cycle counting programs, and transaction discipline to ensure inventory accuracy exceeds 90%, ensuring timely material availability.
Supplier Quality Standardization and Process Enhancement:
•Establish and uphold standardized supplier quality practices based on Lean/TPS principles, working closely with suppliers to align on performance metrics.
•Serve as the primary contact for quality and compliance audits, ensuring adherence to safety, regulatory, and quality standards, and lead initiatives to improve supplier performance.
Risk Mitigation and Strategic Planning:
•Identify risks within the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them, aligning efforts with Lean/TPS frameworks.
•Manage receiving, internal material movement, stockroom management, and shipping, ensuring streamlined operations aligned with Lean/TPS principles.
Desired Characteristics
•Proven experience in manufacturing supply chain management, with expertise in Lean/TPS and vendor management.
•A practitioner of Lean/TPS who is passionate about operational excellence and continuous improvement.
•Strong leadership skills as a servant leader, fostering growth and accountability within value stream teams.
•Experience in managing salaried and hourly workforces, promoting collaboration and operational efficiency.
•Demonstrated ability to lead teams in manufacturing planning, process optimization, and continuous improvement.
•Green Belt certified, Black Belt preferred, with a strong focus on Lean/TPS principles
Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
•6-10 years of experience in manufacturing and supply chain management, with a proven track record of successfully implementing Lean/TPS principles to drive operational improvements.
•Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, inventory management, and supply chain logistics.
