The General Manager, Supply Chain is a dynamic and strategic role that leads the procurement and supply chain functions at JERA Americas. This role is pivotal in driving procurement excellence, strategic sourcing, operational efficiency, digital transformation, compliance and risk management. The General Manager will bring a strong blend of leadership, analytical thinking, and innovation to ensure our supply chain is agile, cost-effective, and resilient. This leader plays a central role in managing the end-to-end process of obtaining goods and services, including the management of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and change orders. This role is also responsible for the negotiation, execution, and lifecycle management of contracts for goods and services, ensuring favorable terms and risk mitigation. This role will ensure that all procurement and sourcing activities are conducted ethically, transparently, and in alignment with corporate governance standards.As a senior leader, the General Manager is expected to embody and promote a values-driven leadership style that inspires teams, strengthens partnerships, and drives long-term success. This role is not only operationally strategic but also culturally influential, helping to shape a high-performing, purpose-driven supply chain organization.
Position Description
Essential Functions•Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with business goals. Lead supplier and consultant selection, contract negotiation, and contract management to ensure cost savings and value creation. Build strategic partnerships with key suppliers to drive innovation, cost efficiency and performance. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities for sourcing optimization.
•Lead and coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process for contractors, consultants, vendors and service providers. Ensure all third parties meet compliance requirements including background checks, safety certifications, insurance verification, and adherence to company policies. Collaborate with Legal, HR, and Operations to streamline onboarding workflows and documentation.
•Play a central role in the issuance and management of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and change orders. Ensure they are compliant, accurate and aligned with sourcing strategies and policies. Guide requestors to preferred suppliers or contracts, and/or implement competitive sourcing events (r.g. RFPs) to ensure selection of preferred suppliers.
•Maintain accurate records of contractor credentials, access permissions, and contract terms. Support stakeholders in monitoring contractor performance and ensure alignment with scope, timelines, and deliverables.
•Ensure all procurement activities follow internal controls and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in ERP procurement systems (e.g. SAP). Work closely with Finance, Legal, Audit, IT and end-users to ensure efficient procurement workflows.
•Draft, review, and obtain legal approval for specific categories of agreements meeting standard JERA document requirements such as Master Service Agreements, Task Orders, Terms and Conditions, and Non-Disclosure Agreements while demonstrating an advanced knowledge of contract terms.
•Champion a culture of continuous improvement. Identify and eliminate inefficiencies across the supply chain. Establish KPIs and performance metrics to monitor and improvement operational performance.

•Champion the digitalization of supply chain processes, thru ERP, AI and other advanced analytics, in partnership with the IT organization, to enhance decision-making, automation and security.
•Develop and maintain a robust supply chain risk management framework. Identify potential risks (e.g., geopolitical, market, supplier-related) and implement mitigation plans. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical sourcing standards.
•Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive supply chain policies and procedures. Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities adhere to internal controls, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Conduct regular audits and training to promote policy awareness and compliance across departments. Continuously evaluate and update policies to reflect evolving business needs, industry best practices, and legal requirements.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
•10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
•Proven track record in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract negotiations and operational excellence.
•Hands-on experience with SAP systems (i.e., SAP S/4HANA, SAP Ariba SLP & CLM)
•Strong knowledge of supply chain technologies and digital tools.
•Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
