National Grid is hiring a Supervisor for our Gas Meter Operations department. This position can be based in Brooklyn, NY.

The Role

The Supervisor will lead and direct employees in meter operations to ensure operations follow regulatory standards and safety policies.

What You'll Do

- Monitor the performance of a diverse union workforce, addressing issues such as absenteeism, discipline, and work standards to ensure efficient and effective operations

- Ensure the safety of both the public and organizational personnel by adhering to National Grid’s safety policies and procedures

- Serve as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders and external agencies, providing support and ensuring service level agreements are met

- Oversee the installation, testing, use, repair, and maintenance of gas meters and associated electronic instruments and devices

- Develop and maintain effective relationships with the gas operations, customer metering services, and engineering departments to support and coordinate work dependencies

- Manage business, vendor, and consultant contracts to ensure all parties are informed of any changes to contracts, schedules, and decisions

About You

- Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma required

- 3+ years of related work experience in gas operations required

- Strong technical proficiency in gas meter testing and measurement preferred

- Solid understanding of tools and testing equipment utilized for gas meter testing required

- 3+ years of experience in leading a team involved in transactional operations services required

- Proficiency in using computers and data analysis, and familiarity with various Microsoft applications required

- Valid driver’s license required

Downstate NY Salary: $111,000 - $130,000 a year

Please be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA). As such, the Company’s testing programs and policies regarding the use of federally prohibited drugs or alcohol, for recreational or medical purposes, will remain in effect for these safety-sensitive, DOT covered positions.
