Overview
We are seeking a skilled Structural Steel Stair Fabricator and Erector to join our team. This role involves the fabrication, assembly, and installation of steel stairs and related structural components on construction sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel fabrication, welding, and site erection, with a focus on safety, precision, and quality. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects utilizing advanced fabrication techniques and industry standards. Traveling is required.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately fabricate steel stairs and components
- Operate various fabrication equipment including plasma cutters, press brake machines, and power tools to cut, bend, and shape sheet metal and structural steel
- Perform MIG, TIG, FCAW welding in accordance with ASME codes & standards to join steel components securely
- Use hand tools and other measuring devices to ensure precise fabrication according to specifications
- Execute rigging and crane operations safely for lifting and positioning heavy steel parts during erection
- Assemble fabricated components on-site or in the shop using mechanical knowledge and assembly techniques
- Conduct quality inspections to verify dimensions, weld integrity, and overall fit of assembled parts
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment following all safety protocols related to construction sites and fabrication processes
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely completion of projects
- Prior construction site experience is highly preferred
- Proven skills in steel fabrication
- Proficiency in welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, FCAW
- Experience operating cranes, forklifts, press brake machines, plasma cutters, and other power tools safely on construction sites or manufacturing facilities
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, schematics involving ASME codes & standards for structural steel fabrication
- Mechanical knowledge including rigging, pipe threading, soldering, machining, and assembly processes
- Basic math skills necessary for measurements and calculations during fabrication tasks
- Familiarity with safety practices related to construction environments including use of hand tools and power tools
