Are you in? Primary Purpose: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Responsible for the financial budget, construction, operation, and maintenance of the electrical distribution infrastructure while providing safe and reliable electric service throughout the Company's service territory. Responsible for upholding customer satisfaction as it relates to service quality, workmanship and reliability. Oversees the activities of the C&M personnel in order to ensure safe and efficient construction and maintenance of distribution facilities. Additional responsibilities include providing business recommendations for the strategic use of contractors and integration with the supply organization. Assures the development and effective implementation of strategic initiatives. Assures the focus and attainment of the C&M organization's business goals and objectives. Develops and maintains an environment that promotes safety, environmental compliance, diversity, innovation and high productivity. Overall, is responsible for employee development, safety, reliability, customer satisfaction and the achievement of financial targets within the Utility. Manage and maintain working relationship with local union(s).
Responsible for the day-to-day leadership, direction, and administration of 6 to 14 direct reports who lead Construction & Maintenance teams for the electrical distribution system. These field construction teams are responsible for the safe construction and maintenance of distribution facilities in the service territory. Includes budget oversight and cost control while maximizing productivity within the field teams. Financial accountability is demonstrated through managing $25-50 million in capital and O&M expenditures per region, with significant impacts on company earnings Support initiatives to reduce the duration and frequency of Customer Outages (CAIDI/SAIFI) and manage the field force response rate for emergent callouts. Internal and external contacts include in-depth contact and collaboration with employees, union leadership, contractors, senior and executive management, customers, governmental and community organizations, regulatory agencies (ICC, PUC, or BPU, DOT, OSHA, etc.), and other utilities. Generally operates with wide latitude for un-reviewed action and decision-making.
-Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of related experience, including 3-5 years of managerial or supervisory experience, or in lieu of bachelor's degree, 12-15 years of related experience is required. -Demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining agreements. -Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electric distribution systems. -Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance. -Proven leadership ability in a high performance results driven culture. -Proven high-level management skills in coaching and development of business skills. -Proven performance management skills including decisiveness, judgment, negotiation, motivation, innovation and development of people. -Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster culture change. -Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process enhancements and efficiencies including new technology. -Demonstrated business acumen, customer awareness and ability to create value.
-Graduate Degree or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or related field is desirable. -Demonstrated ability to achieve results for performance improvement in safety, productivity, customer relations and reliability consistent with the annual Utility/Department/Region scorecard metrics. -Demonstrated experience in negotiations and providing strategic input on labor relation strategies. -Demonstrated commitment to harness the strengths of individual differences for the common good of the corporation and its employees.
