Responsible for the operational performance of the maintenance of the plant to continually meet production, preventative maintenance, and regulatory compliance targets while on shift.
- Understand and follow all Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements.
- Communicate and execute daily instructions to shift coworkers.
- Communicate and control area KPI Targets for identifications of non-conformities and implementation of corrective measures while collaborating with the area employees and shift coordinators as needed for support.
- Coordinate shift staff and generate shift reports, controlling day-to-day activities to achieve short- and long-term operating goals set by the Maintenance Manager.
- Communicate shift turnover with other shift leads in and outside of their unit & department.
- Attend and contribute to the shift coordination meeting.
- Input issues identified into SAP for maintenance repairs and creates incident reports.
- Input maintenance time worked on area work orders.
- Inspect equipment for proper functioning and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
- Dismantle, adjust, repair and assemble equipment according to blueprints, operating or repair manuals, and schematics using hand tools, pneumatic tools, hydraulic, electric tools (outdoor/indoor conditions at all plant locations.)
- Operate mobile equipment and certify as mobile equipment operator for specific equipment (ie, forklift, carry deck, crane).
- Proficient as boiler maker, welder, pipe fitter.
- Knowledgeable in Lockout/tag out procedures.
- Work with the maintenance manager to ensure proper coverage is attained for shift.
- Perform mandatory shopfloor audits to identify hazards and non-compliances in the workplace.
- Develop technician’s knowledge and skills of the process and equipment.
- Provide leadership, direction and coordination between plant departments and within assigned unit.
- Maintain certifications and knowledge requirements.
- Perform incidental maintenance in unit such as equipment PM’s.
- Create and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
- Understand and promote positive company culture and core values.
- Perform other duties assigned as nee ded.
- Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of manufacturing plant processes.
- Good knowledge of local codes and standards.
- Motors, PLC, Drives Experience.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance knowledge.
- Experience in reading construction drawings.
- Basic Computer Skills.
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise, & dust), lift 50 Lbs. and withstand heights of up to 500 feet. Pre-employment physical is required.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC-card.
