Job Summary

The Environmental & Sustainability Advisor plays a critical role in building, implementing, and sustaining world-class environmental and sustainability systems as part of our Mission Zero journey. This highly visible corporate position supports multiple manufacturing facilities, ensuring compliance, advancing sustainability goals, and helping shape the foundation of a strong corporate EHS program.
Job Duties
Environmental Compliance & Auditing
- Conduct environmental compliance audits and assessments across multiple manufacturing facilities to verify adherence to federal, state, and local environmental regulations
- Develop and oversee corrective action plans, monitor progress, track closure, and report on compliance status to corporate leadership.
- Maintain a current understanding of applicable environmental laws, regulations, and emerging requirements impacting company operations.
- Support environmental permitting and compliance obligations related to air, stormwater, hazardous waste, and chemical management.
- Develop corporate standards and tools to strengthen site-level environmental performance and consistency.
- Partner with the Corporate EHS Director and facility teams to build and enhance the company’s EHS Management System with a focus on Environmental and Sustainability, aligning with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 principles.
- Support development of corporate policies, procedures, and audit frameworks to drive consistent EHS excellence across all facilities.
- Assist in building EHS program maturity through cross-functional collaboration, training, and integration with operations.
- Identify best practices and opportunities to simplify and standardize EHS processes across the organization.
- Lead and support sustainability projects focused on energy efficiency, waste reduction, water conservation, and renewable energy initiatives.
- Collaborate with operations, procurement, and other functions to identify and implement sustainable practices aligned with corporate goals and customer expectations.
- Partner with external organizations, vendors, and suppliers to enhance environmental and social impact programs.
- Support advancement toward the company’s Zero Waste to Landfill goals and other long-term sustainability commitments.
- Manage collection, analysis, and reporting of environmental and sustainability data, including energy, water, waste, and greenhouse gas metrics.
- Support development of sustainability disclosures, including ISO documentation, TCFD reporting, and customer inquiries.
- Prepare clear, data-driven reports and presentations for executive leadership, customers, and stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver training programs to increase environmental awareness and promote ownership of sustainability and compliance responsibilities.
- Engage with teams at all levels to reinforce the company’s EHS and sustainability culture, promoting Mission Zero and “For Us, For Family” values.
Travel Requirement: Up to 45% of the time
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Engineering, Sustainability, or related field.
- 4–6 years of progressive experience in environmental compliance, sustainability, or EHS program management (manufacturing experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply complex regulations into practical, facility-level solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of presenting to leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Professional certifications (CHMM, CEM, CESM, etc.) preferred.
