Full-time, 35 hours/ week, Hybrid

Salary Grade: 14 ($87,992- $109,990 annually)

Are you a strategic and organized professional looking to manage the core administrative and budget functions that support our Digital & Innovation (D&I) programs? We are seeking a Planning & Governance Specialist to join our team, reporting to the Manager of Digital & Innovation Administration. This role will provide comprehensive financial support in the administration and governance of D&I programs, budgets, policies, and processes.

What You’ll Do Digital & Innovation Program Administration

- Collaborate with Digital & Innovation management and Corporate Finance to develop and manage budgets and forecasting, including initiating and concluding Capital and Operating work orders.

- Partner with Digital & Innovation Management Team to report on all Governance accountabilities, including Policies, Procedures, and Frameworks to support all lines of business and compliance requirements.

- Liaise with corporate Procurement to complete procurement processes related to Digital & Innovation products and services.


Reporting & Analysis

- Develop, manage, and refine advanced reports and interactive dashboards using Microsoft Power BI, focusing on visualizing Digital & Innovation financials, including in-year and year-over-year trending analysis.

- Apply in-depth knowledge of IT deployment models to track and analyze operational expenditure, correlating deployment strategies with financial impacts.


Financial & Contract Management

- Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team to understand Alectra's capitalization policy, especially for cloud cost capitalization, ensuring compliance with IFRS and OEB regulations.

- Provide administrative support for contract management, including overseeing contract modifications and closure, ensuring alignment with budgets.

- Manage monthly billing processes for telecom mobile devices, notifying business units of usage and coordinating with accounting for accurate cost allocation and charge-backs.

- Perform additional tasks as assigned to support operational objectives.

- Ensure adherence to legislative, regulatory, and Health & Safety policies, procedures, and standards.

Who You Are

Education & Specialized Knowledge

- Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Business Administration, Information Technology, or equivalent knowledge and experience.

- Must hold and maintain a valid class “G” driver’s license.

- Understanding of budget and forecasting administration and management.

- Understanding of procurement management processes.

- Understanding of IT deployment methodologies.

- Understanding of software license management processes.

- Understanding of utility industry business processes and practices.

- Proficiency with MS Office applications.


Experience

- Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in IT department administration.

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in budget and forecast management.

- Experience in a unionized utility environment an asset.

- Procurement and Contract Management: Experienced in procurement processes and contract oversight.

- Communication and Collaboration: Strong ability to work with diverse teams.

- Advanced MS Excel Skills: High proficiency in Excel for complex data management.

- Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving: Exceptional at analyzing data and solving complex problems.

- Organizational Skills: Adept at multitasking and prioritizing in a dynamic environment.

- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Commitment to leveraging innovation for process enhancement.

- Analytical Planning Skills: Ability to assess decision impacts and plan strategically.

- Exceptional Written and Presentation Skills: Strong in organizing and delivering compelling information.

- Project Management: Proficient in managing multiple projects within deadlines.

- Conflict Negotiation: Skilled in resolving disputes and influencing outcomes.

- At Alectra, Compensation for non-union positions is determined within a defined salary range for each role. Placement within the salary range depends on several factors, including qualifications, relevant experience, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
