Solar Design Engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and innovative Solar Design Engineer to join our renewable energy team! In this role, you will be at the forefront of designing efficient, reliable, and cost-effective solar power systems. Your expertise will drive the development of solar projects, ensuring seamless integration from concept to completion.

Duties

- Develop detailed solar system designs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, and CAD software, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications and industry standards

- Create comprehensive schematics and electrical system layouts that optimize performance and safety

- Collaborate with project management teams to establish realistic project schedules and milestones

- Integrate mechanical knowledge into system design considerations, including structural support and mechanical components

- Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) data to inform site assessments and optimize system placement

- Apply systems engineering principles to ensure cohesive integration of electrical, mechanical, and civil components within projects

Requirements

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering or related field; advanced degrees are a plus

- Proven experience in solar or renewable energy projects

- Proficiency in software for design and analysis tasks

- Strong electrical engineering background with knowledge of system design principles for photovoltaic (PV) systems

- Mechanical knowledge related to structural supports and mechanical components of solar installations

- Familiarity with GIS tools for site analysis and planning purposes

- Experience with systems engineering approaches to integrate multiple disciplines into cohesive project designs

- Knowledge of schematics development for electrical systems and system layouts

- Excellent communication skills to coordinate across teams and stakeholders effectively

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
