Job Purpose

This role performs duties and tasks related to the rough grinding for castings

- Rough grind castings to remove gates

- Identify cold pour and mis-runs (excessive scrap)

- Communicate status and issues with:

- First time runs

- Wheel Usage

- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- High Diploma or GED

- Ability to read work instructions and operating procedures for various machines and parts

- Strong personal organizational and time management skills with attention to detail

- Ability to do basic math for counting parts

- Previous experience with Heat Treat

Working conditions

- May be exposed to industrial oils, toner, coolants, solvents, lubricants, adhesive and other chemicals

- Foundry Environment

- Could work in areas with excessive noise

- Exposure to fumes

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds

- Standing for extended periods of time

- Physical agility to move quickly, climb ladders

- Able to twist and bend while moving pans of parts
