The Senior Strategic Sourcing Contracts Manager reports to the Vice President of Supply Chain Management and is primarily responsible for supplier bid management and contract formation. This position will work closely with the Commercial Operations and Legal teams to establish Master Supply Agreements (MSA) with the Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) main equipment suppliers including but not limited to Battery Modules, DC and AC Battery Block Integrators, and Power Conversion Systems (PCS). During project specific Equipment Supply Agreement (ESA) development, this role will lead the negotiations for commercial positions that are in alignment with those of the prime contract terms and conditions.
The Senior Strategic Sourcing Contracts Manager support the Bid Management process by obtaining the project specific quotes for the main equipment, evaluating the proposals, ensuring technical and commercial compliance, identifying project risks associated with the supply chain. Also, the Senior Contracts and Proposals Manager support the Cost Management process by updating the cost items assigned to supply chain management in the cost model.
Essential duties and responsibilities are included, but are not limited to the following:
- Lead the end-to-end request for quote (RFQ) process of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) main equipment suppliers, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, completeness and existing master supply agreements (MSA).
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Commercial Operations, Engineering, Project Management and Finance) to gather technical and commercial requirements for supplier quotations and equipment supply contracts.
- Lead the development of Master Supplier Agreements with main equipment suppliers.
- Lead the development of project specific Equipment Supply Agreements (ESA)
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support new product development, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives by analyzing the total cost of ownership, pricing history, conducting market analysis, and leveraging global supplier networks.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering, alternative sourcing, and process improvements to reduce costs.
- Support the Commercial Operations teams in the preparation of the Project Risk Assessment Matrix by identifying risks and mitigations in the supply chain, including geopolitical, economic, and environmental factors that may impact sourcing strategies.
- Develop contingency plans to ensure the continuity of supply in case of disruptions.
- Work closely with internal departments such as R&D, Quality, Operations, and Finance to align sourcing strategies with business needs.
- Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, supply market conditions, and emerging technologies.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on sourcing strategies based on market dynamics.
- Ensure all sourcing activities comply with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Promote and enforce ethical sourcing practices across the global supply chain.
- Lead initiatives to improve sourcing processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
- A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g. CPSM, CSCP) is preferred. Strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management, with a focus on global sourcing and supplier management. (Preferred)
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Global Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management, with a proven track record in international sourcing.
