Wood is recruiting for a Senior Project Manager to join its Canadian business focusing on projects across Oil, Gas & New Energy and across the Bio Products sector major capital project delivery. This opportunity will provide senior leadership across large-scale, multi-disciplinary capital projects.
The Senior Project Manager will lead the end-to-end engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) delivery for large, multi-year scopes. You will be accountable for safety, quality, schedule, cost and risk; orchestrating an integrated team across engineering centers, supply chain and site construction management to deliver predictable outcomes on complex projects valued at over $100 million.

- Lead execution of major capital EPC/EPCM projects valued over $100M
- Manage project financing activities and feasibility studies
- Ensure project performance meets approved cost, schedule, risk, cost recovery and safety requirements
- Prepare and oversee project financing documentation in collaboration with clients
- Develop and award multiple lump-sum/turnkey EPC(M) contracts
- Form and lead high-performing project management teams
- Implement infrastructure and contracting strategies for successful project delivery
- Lead project cost and schedule development and ensure successful execution
- Model visible safety leadership; embed project specific HSE plans, risk assessments/JHAs and field assurance
- Support proposal development, feasibility assessments, and cost estimates for clients
- Own full EPCM scope delivery across phases (DBM/FEED, Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management, Turnover) with clear stage gate and reporting discipline.
- Establish and run the Project Management Plan and integrated Project Execution Plan; ensure rigorous interface management, risk management, and construction driven planning.
- Lead change, trend, and variance control with project controls (CPI/SPI), ensuring transparent forecasting and recoveries.
- Oversee sourcing strategies for long‑lead materials and critical services; steward contractor performance and commercial outcomes under EPC/EPCM/alliancing frameworks.
- Direct multi‑discipline engineering (pipeline, civil/structural, mechanical, electrical/instrumentation) with an emphasis on constructability, modularization, and replication (Design‑One/Build‑Many).
- Integrate Global Execution Centre (GEC) resources effectively to meet cost/schedule while maintaining quality and assurance.
- Lead the CM interface (and/or act as CM delegate as required) across spreads and facilities, ensuring readiness, logistics, winter work planning, crossings, and commissioning/turnover are planned early and executed safely. (Construction‑driven execution.)
- Partner closely with Client, Indigenous communities, local businesses, and regulators; embed commitments into contracting and execution strategies.
- Build, coach and scale a high-performing, integrated EPCM team (office, GEC, site); set clear objects and cadence; ensure onboarding and knowledge transfer

- Relevant engineering or technical degree/diploma
- 20+ years relevant industrial experience on EPC/EPCM projects as a project manager in capital projects; including execution in remote/complex terrain- Extensive experience in project management, project development, feasibility evaluation, and project finance
- Strong background in engineering management and contract administration
- Demonstrated leadership of large, multidisciplinary technical teams
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with major downstream, petrochemical, or refining projects
- Experience working with large-scale clients in Canada
- Familiarity with Wood systems, tools, and project delivery processes
