Position Summary
The Senior Manager of Transmission & Distribution Services is responsible for helping to maintain the computer systems used for operating the bulk power grid which consists of 69kV to 345kV lines and substations. Included in this position is the responsibility to ensure Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) receives complete and accurate information regarding Oncor’s connected model and real time telemetry. This position manages a high performing team to provide ERCOT with the required information. This position also works with Oncor’s Risk, Security and Compliance group as the owner of relevant North America Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards within Communications (COM) and Interconnection Reliability Operations and Coordination (IRO) as well as representing Oncor for those standards.

Management
- Responsible for Transmission Management System (TMS) Model Group employee development and incentives to create an innovative, enjoyable and efficient work environment.
- Manage projects related to ERCOT’s visibility into Oncor’s High Voltage (HV) and Extra High Voltage (EHV) grid model.
- Manage the Capital and Operating & Maintenance (O&M) budget for the TMS Modeling group.
- Ensure ERCOT Model is correctly imported and configured in the TMS.
- Ensure data created within ERCOTs Model And Graphic Editor is accurate with respect to electrical model changes and real time telemetry as it relates to Oncor’s system.
- Maintain high accuracy of the Inter-Control Center Communications Protocol (ICCP) telemetry data connecting Oncor TMS data to ERCOT and Oncor’s Distribution Management System (DMS).
- Manage the process that allow the ERCOT model to be imported and support the State Estimator and display colorization.
- Partner with vendors, to provide accurate and expedient issue resolution within TMS as it relates to ICCP telemetry.
- Manage the Transmission Outage Application for Transmission Grid Operations (TGO) to ensure accurate Common Information Model (CIM) data.
- Represent Oncor in ERCOT working groups and other seminars or conferences as appropriate.
- Ensure NERC compliance for applicable COM and IRO standards.
- Strong communication and managements skills required.
- Must possess analytical skills to troubleshoot complex problems involving ICCP protocol, telecommunication processes and TMS processing.
- Must be detailed oriented to support ERCOT, NERC and Grid Operations.
- Must be innovative with the ability to improve processes and procedures.
Education And Experience
The minimum requirements are :- High School Diploma, GED and equivalent plus with 8 years of relevant experience is required OR
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering can be accepted in lieu of the above.

- Applicants with the following knowledge are encouraged to apply:
- SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) processing, Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) protocols, and RTU hardware.
- EMS (Energy Management System) equipment .
- Applicants with experience managing Engineers and Technicians are encouraged to apply.
- Must be able to acquire and maintain an Oncor Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) Certification.
- Maintains the delivery of accurate and timely model data and real time telemetry to ERCOT.
- Manages the monitoring and reporting of ERCOT telemetry metrics.
- Maintain accurate records to support potential NERC audits as they pertain to the relevant standards.
