Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Senior IT Technical Systems Analyst to join our Information Technology team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. With minimal supervision, a Senior Technical Systems Analyst works on tailored solutions that reflect deep understanding of the business context and processes, paired with broad technical knowledge. This position requires a breadth of technical knowledge across multiple disciplines, including enterprise architecture, cloud services, networking, server management, cybersecurity, and high-level application development. In addition to a high-level understanding of these various technical disciplines, this position must be relationship focused with skills in clear and concise communication, leading without authority, setting timelines and milestones of delivery, and orchestrating the building and delivery of complex technical systems.
This individual will operate as part of a small matrix group which focuses on the highest level of consultation for technology needs supporting Atmospheric Science and Water Resource operations’ activities. They work closely with multiple facets of IT and Power Supply to facilitate delivering technical outcomes in addition to guiding and facilitating resilient and secure technology practices. Additionally, this role will oversee all incoming technical needs originating from At Sci and Water Resources and manage the IT Service Delivery intake (when necessary) and educate and evangelize technology solutions currently owned and supported by IPC.
- Acting as the primary liaison between technologists and business stakeholders.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with designated business partners to support strategic objectives.
- Facilitating the evaluation and validation of solutions while gathering, analyzing, and communicating requirements to ensure alignment with IT strategy and business goals
- Analyzing and assisting the business with defining and/or designing new business solutions.
- Spearhead the Design and documentation of technical solution(s).
- Act as Primary Point of Contact for IT and Business leadership for assigned systems.
- Advanced technical troubleshooting and researching issues to resolution.
- Developing System architecture, configuration, testing, and prototyping.
- Create and publish formal roadmaps, milestones, and Management updates on complex systems
- Understands complex technology and applications and experience with a multitude of business processes and information systems.

- Gather business requirements, interpret technical specifications, and relate them to system functionality
- Facilitate work sessions with stakeholders to design or redesign business processes to meet requirements
- Manage and report on assigned project tasks
- Manage and report on multiple technology projects/initiatives
- Communicate clearly with technical personnel along with all levels of business leadership and project stakeholder
- Prioritize course of action for self and others to ensure that work is managed effectively
- Effectively translate business requirements into design specifications that can be leveraged by Solution Architects, Developers, Engineers, and Administrators to create a solution that meets business objectives
- Proactively identify potential issues before they impact end users
- Respond promptly and professionally to issues identified by end users, assist in identification and implementation of resolution
- Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or related field
- An equivalent combination of education, experience, training, and/or certifications
- 5 or more years of professional level IT/business experience with a minimum of 3 years business analyst experience
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires working at a desk/computer for extended periods of time. It requires the use of office equipment, fine motor skills including typing on the computer, dialing phones, filing paper, and working in close proximity to other people.
