Position Specific Description

This role works within FPL's IT Operations organization, helping optimize reliability and security of systems. You are result-oriented, perform the assigned duties with high autonomy and commitment, and provide periodic updates to management. Planning and organizing are two of your strong characteristics, and you can see the big picture.

Role Specific Duties & Responsibilities

- Works with Managed Service Provider to continuously improve IT Operations services

- Is responsible for these ITIL disciplines:

- Oversees Transition Planning & Support activities (TTO)

- Oversees and reports on Incident Management activities (Major Incident Management)

- Drives Root Cause and Prevention related programs (Problem Management)

- Coordinates server Patch Management activities to continuously increase compliance

- Works with monitoring engineers to continuously improve issue prediction, detection and response.

- Contributes to the ongoing implementation of process improvements, automation, and leveraging AI to enhance the efficiency and delivery of IT Operations services.

- Uses ServiceNow capabilities, such as reporting and dashboards, to analyze and communicate Operational activities.

- Performs other duties as assigned during Storm and other urgent situations.

- Integrates Cyber Security into all strategic and tactical activities.

- May be asked to provide On Call escalation support on a rotational basis.

- May provide backup coverage for digital workplace IT Operations oversight, include workstation patch management, hardware asset management and software asset.

Job Overview

This position installs, configures, and maintains computing infrastructure, operating systems, and middleware products on all computer platforms, including mainframes, workstations, and servers - including web servers - in support of 24-hour-per-day, seven-day-per-week business processes.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

- Evaluates, implements, and modifies operating system software parameters and product solutions for optimum performance

- Identifies integration and other interface requirements for all supported products and platforms

- Serves as a technical escalation point for technicians and customers

- Troubleshoots hardware, system and application issues

- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

- High School Grad / GED

- Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience

- Experience: 4+ years

- Bachelor’s Degree
