We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced leader to join us as Senior Director of Business Development. Reporting directly to the President you will play a crucial role in leading and shaping our business lifecycle and driving growth. Location:
Preferred location is within the Washington D.C. Metro Area. Remote work will be considered for outstanding candidates.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for leading the entire business development activity and lifecycle, from opportunity identification to shaping, capture, and successful closure. Key responsibilities include:
•Serving as the principal BD leader for the company, proactively identifying and assessing business opportunities within the commercial, civil, and national security space sectors
•Building the team to support this critical function, serving as both a tactical frontline leader and longer term strategic architect
•Shaping and leading the development of winning proposals and capture strategies
•Cultivating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and clients
•Driving business growth through effective sales and marketing strategies
•Navigating the complexities of government contracting and capture processes
•Developing quotes, proposals, and purchase agreements for prospective customers
•Supporting company marketing and media campaigns
•Bringing an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong bias for action to the role
Requirements:
•Bachelor's or MBA, JD, or related field, and at least ten years of demonstrated leadership experience in business development, sales, marketing, or a related field
•Deep knowledge of and experience within the commercial, civil, national security, and international space sectors – previous employment in the new space economy a plus
•In-depth understanding and mastery of the business development and sales lifecycle
•Experience with government contracting and capture is a must
•Experience within the energy sector is a strong plus
•Security clearance, veteran status, energy sector experience and/or advanced degree(s) desired
•Excellent organizational skills with the ability to lead complex projects and multitask with minimal supervision
•Strong desire and proven ability to thrive within a fast-paced, sometimes unscripted, startup environment
•Impeccable integrity, business ethics, and interpersonal skills
•Demonstrated bias for action and ownership mindset
•Eligibility to obtain or possession of a U.S. security clearance
•Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
