The Opportunity
South Bow is seeking a dynamic and driven Senior Corporate Development Specialist to join our Corporate Development team. In this high-impact role, you’ll play a key part in identifying and evaluating strategic M&A opportunities that align with our long-term growth strategy. You’ll collaborate across internal teams and build strong relationships with external advisors, partners, and capital providers. This position is open to candidates located in either Calgary, Alberta, Canada or Houston, Texas, United States.
What You’ll Do
- Partner with Corporate Development leadership to identify, assess, and negotiate potential M&A transactions and strategic partnerships
- Lead analytical workstreams to evaluate Corporate Development initiatives, including complex financial modeling and interpretation of commercial agreements
- Manage cross-functional due diligence processes to evaluate and assess the risk of potential transactions
- Support the preparation of high-quality materials for Management and Board review
- Monitor and document developments in the energy infrastructure sector, including peer activity, M&A transactions and competitive landscape
- Contribute to the evolution of South Bow’s growth strategy and support the creation of strategic presentations to Management and Board
- Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering, and completion of an MBA program with a Finance focus or CFA designation
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in corporate development or investment banking
- Advanced financial modeling and Excel skills; strong PowerPoint presentation abilities
- Solid understanding of financial accounting, tax, capital markets, and valuation methodologies
- Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational abilities with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be comfortable working under tight deadlines and shifting priorities driven by transaction timelines
- Periodic travel, as required by potential transactions
- Have a current, valid authorization to travel internationally
- Successfully complete pre-employment credit and criminal background checks
