Position Summary: The Senior Accounting Manager is a resourceful, highly motivated professional with solid accounting skills and process knowledge in the areas of general ledger and the Accounts Payable function. This role leads a team of accounting professionals and reports to and works closely with the Controller.
Key responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to:
•Responsible for the preparation of journal entries and analysis of several ledger accounts, including but not limited to Fixed Assets, Prepaids, and Intercompany
•Familiar with banking payment platforms and AP systems, and accountable for all disbursements, including checks, ACH, and wires
•Timely management of vendor payments, following Company workflow approval process
•Solid understanding on the impact of AP management on the Company’s cash-flow, and on the completeness and accuracy of financial statements, with proper execution/review of items such as voids, credit memos, invoice coding, and the monthly accrual process
•Strict adherence to and compliance of Company policies and procedures, including:
•Proper management of the vendor master file with appropriate set-up of new vendors and 1099 annual filings
•Filing of unclaimed property, working/collaborating diligently with other accounting team members on disposition of outstanding checks and accuracy of bank reconciliations
•Proper review and collection of supporting documentation for all payments including T&E’s
•Assist with the reconciliation of sales and use taxes
•Recruit, supervise, train, and oversee activities of staff; assist with staff development; perform annual performance reviews and salary administration.
•Participation in various projects as directed by management to streamline/simplify processes and create efficiencies
Desired skills and experience:
•BS in Accounting or related field
•Minimum of 3 years’ general accounting experience
•Fluency in ERP ledger system. Proficiency in MS Excel
•Versatile and diligent with the ability to multitask and handle competing demands
•Forward thinker, possessing sound judgement and strong analytical skills
•Team player with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
•Highly engaged, with focus on continuous improvement and proactive learning
