Sand Crushing Line Operator (Night Shift)

Location: Clayton, Iowa Wage: $20.50-$23.50 starting wage, increases based on experience Night Shift Premium: Additional $3/hour for NIGHT SHIFT WORK (6pm-6am)

Schedule: Monday- Friday primarily, some weekend work will be required

Position Summary

Pattison Company is seeking a NIGHT SHIFT Sand Crushing Line Operator to join our team in Clayton, Iowa. This position plays a key role in the sand production process, ensuring that the sand crushing line operates safely, efficiently, and meets quality and production targets.

Operators will be responsible for equipment operation, general maintenance, and inspections of the sand crushing line. They must comply with company, local, state, and federal safety regulations while working collaboratively with other departments to schedule repairs, screen changes, and production needs.

Primary Responsibilities

- Maintain a clean and safe work environment on the sand crushing line

- Ensure all safety features and guards are in place and fully operational

- Monitor and maintain the grizzly and jaw crusher

- Inspect, maintain, and repair belts, conveyors, screens, and wear items on the HSI, VSI, and wet screen

- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of feed bins, belts, and conveyors

- Operate heavy equipment including skid loaders, front-end loaders, mud buckets, excavators, and bulldozers

- Perform general laborer duties as required


Qualifications & Requirements

- Ability to work in varying weather conditions on uneven, sandy, and rocky surfaces

- Must be able to:

- Stand for 6-12 hours and perform physical tasks such as bending and stooping

- Work up to 12-hour shifts

- Climb on and off equipment and ladders

- Work at heights in physically demanding conditions

- Wear a half-mask respirator for extended periods

- Lift 60 pounds without mechanical assistance

- Use a computer proficiently and enter data accurately

- Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, and commitment to workplace safety


Education & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required

- Prior heavy equipment operating experience preferred

- Mining experience preferred


Certifications & Licenses

- MSHA Part 48 certification required (training available on-site)

- Valid driver’s license required for all Pattison Company employees unless deemed non-essential to the position by HR.
