The Sales Manager for Construction Products is responsible for establishing Majestic Steel’s go-to-market strategy, driving sales execution, and developing customer relationships within the construction products market across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. This role combines direct account management with product management oversight across multiple sales teams. Responsible for growing direct business with construction product-focused customers and enabling broader sales performance across Majestic’s network by identifying and developing new market opportunities.
- Manage and grow construction products business in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions, supporting transactional, contractual and trade opportunities.
- Lead direct selling efforts for a defined book of customers within the construction products end-market.
- Partner with sales teams to identify and secure incremental sales growth across the broader construction products customer base.
- Serve as the primary commercial contact for strategic construction products accounts, ensuring consistent communication, performance, and long-term relationship development.
- Act as the internal champion for construction products by providing market insight, offer strategies, and customer intelligence to influence product positioning and regional strategy.
- Work closely with purchasing, operations, and supply chain teams to align sourcing and inventory planning with customer and market needs.
- Consult with customers to ascertain needs and provide recommendations for strategy and product solutions.
- Effectively present, educate and discuss products and services of the company.
- Execute in-person customer meetings with designated accounts.
- Administer contract business ensuring that all signed contracts are completed as specified in the agreement.
- Adhere to established guidelines for sales and pricing process and procedures.
- Actively attend and participate in sales meetings, customer visits, product seminars, trade shows and similar events and activities.
- Verify accuracy of all customer and product specifications to eliminate errors that impact the business.
- Maintain knowledge of the steel industry to provide the highest level of service to customers and prospects.
- Other job related duties and special projects as assigned.- 7+ years’ proven flat rolled steel sales experience. - 5+ years of experience in construction products and related end-markets.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Technologically savvy and experience working with Microsoft Office products and Windows-based applications.
- Strong knowledge of construction industry trends and distribution channels.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel as needed within assigned territory.
- Proven negotiation skills and creative selling ability.
- Ability to successfully close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Ability to overcome objections and persevere in the face of obstacles and rejection.
- Sense of urgency and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to prioritize projects, accept responsibility and follow through without close supervision.
- Experience managing or influencing indirect sales teams.
- Familiarity with CRM tools and sales enablement technology.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
- Must be able to work outside normal business hours/days as needed.
- Must be able to travel and work at an outside location.
