*Pipe Welder / Rig Welder – Job Description *MEC Construction LLC
- Must be able to pass a API 1104 multiple qualification test
- Must be able to skillfully weld pipe from 2" to 36"
- Must be able to downhill weld
- Must be able to cut pipe and fittings with torch
- Must be able to read blue prints, P&IDs, ISOs, and should be able to create red line/as built drawings
- Must be able to set up, adjust and operate welding equipment
- Must clean and maintain tools and equipment used in the work
- Candidates with the ability to self-fit pipe are encouraged to apply
- Frequent walking and climbing (stairs, ladders, terrain)
- Frequent lifting (up to and including 50 pounds)
- Frequent bending, twisting and standing
- Exposure to working outdoors in all-weather conditions
- Ability to work more than 40 hours in any given week including weekend assignments as required
- Two to three years of pipe welding and fabrication experience required
- Each pipe welder must the following personally owned tooling in order to be considered for employment:
- Rig (truck)

- Weld Leads (min. of 100’)
- Torch Gauges
- Torch Hoses
- Hand Torch
- Long Barrel Torch
- Short Barrel Torch
- 2 Grinders
- 22’ Squares
- 2 Hole Pins
- 2’ Level
- 4’ Level
- Crescent Wrench
- Hammer
- Space Tool
- Torpedo Level
- Center Finder
- 2”-4” Bevel Machine
- 2”-4” Ultra Clamp
- 25’ Tape Measure
- 100’ Tape Measure
