Job Summary

Industry-leading Exterior Services Company is looking for an experienced, driven, and data-driven individual to add to our growing team of expert exterior estimating professionals. The estimator is responsible for knowing and learning all aspects of exterior building products, including but not limited to siding, roofing, and gutters. That includes materials and installation means and methods. To continue education and research of new or upcoming products relevant to our business.

Primary Job Duties: Communication, Information, Organization, and Client Retention

•

Establish and maintain healthy and professional relationships with new and existing clients.

•

Utilize our proprietary client acquisition methodology to educate, consult, inform, and sell the roofing and/or siding system that will fit their needs.

•

Accurately estimate material and labor costs for residential construction projects using our proprietary software and industry knowledge.

•

Establish and maintain customer relationships from the point of sale to the point of installation.

•

Communicate with customers to determine specifications for each project and outline a clear and repeatable scope of work and project specification of work before and during the estimate-project process.

•

Organize documents and maintain accurate records.

•

Ensure bids are accurate, timely, and positioned with professional deliverability.

•

Ensure all details are correctly included on bids. Essential Functions:

•

Ensure that estimating projects are completed on time and are favorable to the company's growth.

•

Ensure specs are confirmed, documented, and shared with the needed team members.

•

Utilize product samples, support, and technology provided to you

•

Occasional visits to job sites

•

Attend team meetings and sales training to keep up with the latest developments

•

Constant & reliable communication with the production and field team encourages and drives efficient workflow.

•

Communication with vendors/suppliers to keep our team ahead of the curve. Price increases and material availability.

•

Comfortable communicating with builders to drive the steady and accurate flow of vital spec information. Also, communicating bid duration and the possibility of late submittal.

•

Communicating with the team when errors are found so that a team solution can be developed.

•

Maintain an up-to-date bid queue.

•

Maintain organized folders/information to be readily accessible by necessary team members.

•

Maintain an accurate and up-to-date spreadsheet with labor costs.

Bid & Estimate Creation

•

Research necessary information to create detailed specifications for the team.

•

Compile plans, specs, and material and labor pricing.

•

Perform accurate and detailed plan markups in the provided software.

•

Accurate data transfer from markup/takeoff to bid workbooks.

•

Detailed data analysis of workbooks to determine the accuracy of our bids. The ability to understand simple Excel formulas.

•

Communicate with the team to determine proper margins.

•

Communicate with the production team during rebid/price increase opportunities, over/under material changes.

•

Communicate with the Purchasing Coordinator on over/under materials from actual jobs to make necessary corrections to take-offs as needed

Key Performance Drivers

•

Communicate with customers in a cordial yet professional manner that relays trustworthiness, reliability, and competence

•

Ensure all work is accurate, consistent, and intelligible

•

Maintain an accurate and user-friendly database for take-off and bid information on the main server

•

Assisting fellow team members with the accuracy of their work, that is built from the bids created.

•

Gather information required for new customers utilizing the CHE Builder Information sheet.

Qualifications:

•

Extensive knowledge of and application of digitization software

•

Extensive knowledge of and experience with Excel, CSV, and Tables

•

Preferable extensive knowledge of Roofing, Siding, Gutters, and Masonry

•

Preferably extensive knowledge of Vinyl, Fiber Cement, AWP, and Panel & Channel Systems.

•

Comfortable using CRM programs
