Regional Stakeholder Engagement Manager

Deep Fission is a nuclear technology company pioneering the development of a revolutionary deep borehole pressurized water reactor. Job Summary

The Regional Stakeholder Engagement Lead is responsible for overseeing all regional operations in the Parsons, KS area while serving as Deep Fission's primary liaison to government, regulatory, community, and industry stakeholders. This person will ensure operational readiness and compliance, champion community trust, and create alignment between Deep Fission's mission and the expectations of the communities and authorities in which we operate.

This role requires a seasoned leader who is equally comfortable in a boardroom, a town hall meeting, and on a job site — someone who understands nuclear energy's regulatory landscape while possessing the interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships with diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

- Regional Operations Management

- Oversee day-to-day regional operations including site activities, workforce management, vendor coordination, and facilities compliance

- Partner with engineering, safety, and project management teams to ensure construction and operational milestones are met on schedule and within budget

- Establish and maintain regional operational protocols consistent with NRC regulations, DOE standards, and Deep Fission's internal policies

- Serve as the regional decision-making authority during escalations, emergencies, or operational disruptions

- Develop and monitor regional KPIs, providing regular performance reports to senior leadership

- Stakeholder Engagement & External Affairs

- Serve as Deep Fission's primary representative to federal, state, and local government agencies, including the NRC, DOE, and Kansas state regulators

- Build and sustain relationships with elected officials, municipal leaders, tribal nations, and community organizations in the Parsons area and surrounding region

- Lead public outreach initiatives, community listening sessions, and educational programs to foster informed support for Deep Fission's operations

- Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to navigate permitting, licensing, and public comment processes

- Represent Deep Fission at industry conferences, legislative hearings, and regional events

- Develop and implement a regional stakeholder engagement strategy aligned with company communication goals

- Community Relations & Social License

- Champion Deep Fission's commitment to transparency, safety, and community benefit in all public-facing interactions

- Develop local hiring initiatives, workforce development partnerships with educational institutions, and community investment programs

- Monitor and respond to community concerns, environmental justice considerations, and public perception issues

- Work with corporate communications to develop messaging that accurately reflects regional operations and stakeholder sentiment

- Team & Cross-Functional Leadership

- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across all regional functions

- Serve as a bridge between corporate leadership and regional operations, ensuring alignment on priorities, resource needs, and strategic direction

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, public policy, environmental science, or a related field

- 8+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in nuclear energy, utilities, energy infrastructure, or a similarly regulated industry

- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, or public affairs within a complex regulatory environment

- Proven track record of managing multi-disciplinary teams and operational programs

- Familiarity with NRC licensing processes, DOE regulations, and nuclear safety culture principles

- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences

- Willingness to reside in or relocate to the Parsons, KS region

Desired Skills & Experience

- Master's degree or advanced credential in a relevant field

- Experience with SMR or advanced nuclear reactor technology deployment

- Prior experience managing community relations in rural or resource-sector communities

- Background in federal or state energy policy, legislative affairs, or regulatory advocacy

- Experience working with tribal nations, environmental justice communities, or underserved populations
