The Regional Controller plays a critical role in supporting the financial health and strategic direction of Brock Canada and its affiliated entities. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance, this position ensures the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial operations through effective leadership, oversight, and process improvement for all of Brock’s operations in Canada.
The Regional Controller directly contributes to the organization’s success by delivering reliable financial reporting, strengthening internal controls, and enabling data-driven decision-making. Key areas of focus include managing accounting teams, leading month-end and year-end close processes, enhancing financial systems, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate standards across all business units.
Please Note: This position is based out of our Nisku office and is not eligible for relocation assistance or fully remote work. The successful applicant must be able to commute to the office on a regular basis. While occasional work-from-home days may be permitted under special circumstances, a regular work-from-home schedule is not allowed. This is due to the collaborative nature of the role and the in-person support it provides to the business. All remote work arrangements must be requested, justified, and approved under the current Work From Home Policy, and are subject to change at any time based on operational needs.
- Lead and oversee accounting processes within Finance’s scope, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal policies
- Review, approve, and ensure accuracy in monthly and year-end close processes, including general ledger and fixed asset reporting
- Perform and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies
- Provide financial variance analysis and insights to support business decision-making
- Monitor intercompany transactions and ensure proper consolidation across multiple legal entities
- Support internal and external audits by preparing accurate schedules, reports, and reconciliations
- Coach, mentor, and develop accounting team members to foster a high-performance culture
- Collaborate with operational and corporate teams to improve financial systems, processes, and reporting capabilities
- Ensure all financial reporting obligations for internal stakeholders and external parties are met accurately and on time
- Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of finance-related policies, procedures, and tools
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation (Chartered Professional Accountant) is required
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Demonstrated experience in full-cycle accounting, consolidations, and financial reporting across multiple entities
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and audit processes
- Proficiency with financial and ERP systems (SAP, Sage, Oracle, or similar)
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
