The Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming, in process, and finished product.
This is a contract role for a large company project, expected to last through December 2026.
- Inspects products to drawings.
- Inspects product using measuring equipment.
- Inspects to ISO 9001:2015 specifications.
- Completes inspection reports.
- Reports discrepant material.
- Problem solving of quality issues.
- Enters data into computer.
- Inspects rework.
- Communicates findings to appropriate personnel.
- Identifies parts (for materials handlers).
- Participates as Team Member in MRB activities.
- Performs incoming inspections, FAI’s, Inspects Supplier resubmittals after rework.
- Coordinates Calibration schedules with outside sources.
- Performs other duties or special projects as required or assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Vocational job training preferred.
- Prior work experience in industrial manufacturing environment (e.g., includes facilities that manufacture heavy construction equipment, turbines & generators, transformers, or related industries) preferred.
- 2 years in quality inspector role preferred.
- Experience with CAD preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 procedures preferred.
- Computer literate (Windows, MS Office, email, etc).
- 8D Problem Solving experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings (GD&T)
- Ability to use measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, etc)
- Solid communication skills
- Ability to perform digital data entry.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts and high voltage electricity.
- The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
- Occasional movement: lifting, climbing, kneeling, pulling, bending, etc.
- Ability to work on top of containers using proper safety harnesses.
- Ability to lift items up to 70 lbs. in weight on a regular basis.
