Quality Engineer

Edgewater Technical Associates is seeking qualified candidates for a Quality Engineer opportunity in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compliance-driven Quality Engineer to support a high-precision industrial manufacturing project within the nuclear industry. This role ensures that all components, processes, and documentation meet rigorous quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement quality plans, procedures, and documentation aligned with ISO standards

- Perform inspections, audits, and surveillance of manufacturing processes and suppliers

- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for non-conformances

- Review and approve engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing records for compliance

- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams to ensure quality throughout the lifecycle

- Maintain traceability and documentation for regulatory audits and customer reviews

- Support qualification and validation of equipment, processes, and personnel

- Monitor and report quality metrics, trends, and continuous improvement initiatives

Required Qualifications:

- 5+ years of experience in quality engineering, preferably in the nuclear, automotive, aerospace, or defense industries

- Strong knowledge of ISO quality standards

- Proficiency in quality management systems (QMS), inspection tools, and data analysis

- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills

- Active or recently active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field

- Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification

- Experience supporting DOE, Automotive, Aerospace or highly regulated industries

- Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and contamination control
