Quality Control Technician

Granite Mountain Quarries based in Little Rock, AR is currently recruiting for a Quality Control Technician role to serve our 4 quarry sites in Central Arkansas. This includes varied technical expertise and leadership responsibility to run material samples and coordinate with our production teams at all locations. Quality Control Technician Description:

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following:

General:

- The Plant Quality Control Technician (PQCT) will report to the Quality Control Manager. In addition to performing all testing of products to ensure they meet requirements, the PQCT activities include but are not limited to testing, communicating with management regarding test results, maintain lab areas in a professional/orderly fashion, assist as needed in facilitating efficient plant production, employee training as well as safety related matters.

Specific Requirements:

Safety:

- Support of all safety and health related policies and programs to promote safety as a core value of Granite Mountain Quarries.

- Support the mission of Granite Mountain Quarries to be better than compliant and to be committed to a safety culture that eliminates harm to persons, environment, property, and integrity.

Technical:

- Must have strong written and oral communication skills in order to read, understand, and discuss with others, including customers, complex material specifications and test results.

- Must have competent computer skills including proficiency in Excel, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs.

- Must be able to pass state certification test(s) in order to continue in the role once initial (internal) training has been completed.

Teamwork:

- Daily commitment to the GMQ Plant team and all other GMQ operations to include other plants, all personnel, other leaders, and GMQ management.

- Report to the QC Manager and positively interact with all GMQ leadership.

Qualification Requirements:

- Successful completion of a high school or secondary education or equivalent.

- The ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders in a plant operation. This includes oral and written communication.

- Commitment to obtain the Basic Aggregates certification from Center for Training Transportation Professionals (CTTP) at the University of Arkansas.

- Commitment and ability to learn to perform the basic as well as the more technical testing required for quality control.

- Must be able to pass a math test.

- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds or equivalent of a material sample.

- Must be willing and able to work in inclement weather to include extreme cold and heat.

- Must be willing and able to safely climb and navigate plant equipment using ladders, stairs.
