Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Quality Control Assistant with at least one year of experience in metal fabrication, welding, and/or quality control. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our manufacturing processes by ensuring products meet strict standards and specifications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with welding techniques, fabrication processes, and quality inspection tools.

Duties

- Perform visual inspections of fabricated metal components to identify defects or inconsistencies

- Use measurement tools such as calipers, guages, and tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances according to blueprints and schematics

- Assist in conducting inspections of MIG, TIG, and Stick-welding processes as assigned

- Read and interpret in-house and client-provided drawings and blueprints to ensure fabrication accuracy

- Support the assembly process by verifying proper fit-up, alignment, and integrity of fabricated parts

- Maintain detailed records of inspections, measurements, and non-conformance reports

- Collaborate with fabrication teams on quality issues related to sheet metal work, ductwork, pipe threading, cutting, or machining

Skills

- Metal fabrication/manufacturing experience preferred

- Knowledge of various welding techniques preferred

- Ability to read blueprints and drawings accurately required

- Experience with hand tools, power tools, cutting equipment, presses, shears, saws, beveling and bending machines, and rigging operations

- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to fabrication and welding practices

- Familiarity with using a variety of measurement instruments, including gauges

- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations during inspections

- Mechanical knowledge related to our manufacturing processes

- Understanding of construction safety protocols including bridge crane operation and rigging procedures
