Our Quality Assurance team is seeking an experienced Inspector to support pressure equipment integrity at our Firebag facility. In this role, you will ensure compliance with integrity management programs through in‑service inspections and oversight of materials, welding, and quality activities. As part of the shift inspector team, you will also provide technical expertise and data support to resolve plant issues.

- Three years of In-Service inspection experience on pressure equipment or welding inspection experience
- A journeyperson trade ticket related to pressure equipment, OR a technologist diploma in welding/materials/mechanical engineering technology, OR experience and certification in non-destructive examination
- CGSB certification in LPI, MPI and UT level 2
- API 510, API 570 inspector certification an asset
- Experience using SAP and GE-APM
- High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
- Valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- Perform in-service inspection activities in accordance with the specific inspection scope and checklist
- Collect and analyze inspection data, create inspection reports and recommendations
- Compliance with applicable codes, standards, and recommended practices as well as planning & engineering scopes of work
- Prepare repair recommendations and plans
- Update GE APM and SAP with inspection data
- Perform inspections to ensure any repairs, alteration and fabrication of piping systems meet the requirements of the Suncor integrity management program and regulatory requirements
- Provide support to the operations and maintenance groups to ensure integrity
- Ensure effective communication cooperation with field personnel
- You will work out of our Firebag location, which is our largest in situ operation and one of the largest in the world (and located 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta)
- This is a Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) camp-based position; you will FIFO from a Suncor hub location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta
- The position will be on a 14x14 shift schedule; 12 hr shifts with potential for extended work hours based on business needs
- This position is safety sensitive
