GENERAL SUMMARY:
Establish a purchasing system of procedures and controls to ensure accurate, complete, timely, and economical purchasing of all materials, parts, and supplies.
•Develop levels of purchasing authorization.
•Ensure proper authorization and usage of Purchase Order forms.
•Develop a system to monitor quantities of supplies and materials on hand and generate re-orders as necessary.
•Develop and utilize a database to ensure that we know where we purchased and can purchase each item and how much we were quoted and paid.
•Organize equipment documentation to ensure that we obtain warranty parts when possible and correct parts the first time.
•Develop a follow-up system to know the current status of each purchase order.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
•Ensure that all material is properly received and that each invoice is properly authorized prior to payment.
•Compare pricing and negotiate discounts to get the quality we need as inexpensively as possible.
•Coordinate all metals purchases with Customer Service and Accounting to ensure accuracy and profitability.
•Ensure that all of the correct accessories, tooling, and other supplies are on site as needed for all customer orders.
•Review all customer orders for accessories and other items that may need to be procured in order to complete the order.
•Ensure adherence to specifications for purchased supplies, tooling, and accessories prior to the time such items are needed in production.
•Procure all necessary services for production and maintenance.
•This includes gold plating, die cutting, roll grinding, contractors, etc.
•Develop a means of ensuring that all necessary services are being arranged in a timely manner, that quoted prices and timetables are being followed, and that services rendered meet our specifications and expectations.
•Ensure adequate supplies of base metals when necessary with acceptable lead times.
•Ensure an adequate supply of all parts and supplies for machinery and for all departments.
•Create and maintain accurate inventories of accessories, machinery parts, and critical supplies
•Keep administrative and operational management apprised of status of ordering, problems, resolutions, expected delivery times, etc.
•Develop a weekly reporting mechanism to convey status of purchasing issues.
•Take advantage of negotiated pricing, economic order quantities, blanket orders, and shipping discounts (including using our own accounts) whenever feasible.
•Establish a clear procedure for obtaining parts and supplies from local suppliers, including setting up accounts for convenience and managing who will go and when pick-ups will be made by Sunshine personnel.
•Assist in the development of a formalized job description for Purchasing Manager.
•Perform “other duties as assigned”

•Must be able to fill in for Shipping/Receiving as needed and perform all necessary functions of that position as well.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Some College and/or two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of Shipping/Receiving and Inventory Control. Manufacturing and forklift experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Standard language unless something more is required.
Ability to read, write, do basic math, and communicate effectively.

Work Environment:
The work environment is of moderate temperature with a moderately loud noise level, hearing protection is required. Gloves must be worn and changed frequently and continuously throughout the day. Work may be performed near moving mechanical parts dependent upon task.
