Job Title: Buyer – Materials & Procurement

Position Summary:
AMS Group is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to manage the procurement of materials necessary for installation of high-quality metal and glass doors and metal works. The Buyer plays a critical role in maintaining optimal inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, and supporting the successful execution of custom fabrication projects.
The ideal candidate has excellent communication and negotiation skills, is experienced in supply chain operations, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple moving parts across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
Purchasing & Vendor Management
•Procure materials and components (e.g., glass, handles, rollers) in alignment with production schedules.
•Review product specifications, pricing, and lead time to ensure optimal purchasing decisions.
•Generate and manage purchase orders in the ERP system (Odoo).
•Evaluate vendor performance and maintain strong relationships.
•Research and qualify new suppliers and negotiate terms.
•Coordinate rentals of equipment needed for installations or special projects.
Inventory & Planning
•Analyze job calendars and physical inventory to forecast material needs.
•Collaborate with the inventory team to maintain accurate stock levels.
•Conduct monthly inventory counts and reconcile with system records.
•Issue materials to projects daily and maintain detailed usage tracking.
•Ensure all incoming and outgoing materials are properly logged.
•Ensure timely deliveries in accordance with project schedules.
•Pick up materials when needed and complete receiving documentation.
•Maintain accurate records of deliveries, receipts, and supplier invoices.
•Coordinate with production to send templates and material cut sheets.
•Assist with invoice processing, account reconciliation, and vendor payment follow-ups.
•Ensure all purchasing records are properly filed and accessible per project.
Qualifications:
•Basic experience in procurement, inventory management, or a similar role (construction or manufacturing experience preferred).
•Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
•Experience with ERP systems (Odoo preferred).
•Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
•Valid driver’s license required.
