The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing and managing a robust procurement system that ensures timely, cost-effective, and quality acquisition of all materials, parts, and services required for Sunshine Minting Inc.’s operations. This role combines strategic sourcing, vendor management, and operational purchasing to support production efficiency, inventory accuracy, and profitability. This includes adherence to the Sunshine Minting Inc. Purchasing Policy, which outlines requisition protocols, vendor selection criteria, and approval processes.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of buyers, driving procurement strategies, supplier negotiations, and sourcing optimization to ensure cost-effective and timely acquisition of goods and services.
• Establish and enforce purchasing procedures and internal controls to ensure accurate, compliant, and economical procurement practices.
• Maintain and oversee supplier records, including pricing trends, vendor performance, and backup sourcing options to support informed purchasing decisions.
• Ensure proper receipt of materials and timely invoice approvals, maintaining accountability for the full procure-to-pay cycle.
• Lead supplier negotiations, securing favorable pricing, terms, and service levels while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
• Monitor and report on purchase order status, delivery timelines, and vendor performance, using data to drive continuous improvement.
• Provide regular reports on purchasing activities, highlighting key challenges, resolutions, and strategic insights.
• Drive the development of standardized documentation for purchasing processes and training purposes.
• Ensure compliance with procurement ethics and corporate policies, including conflict of interest disclosures and anti-corruption standards.
• Act as the primary liaison for internal stakeholders and external vendors, ensuring accurate and up-to-date procurement records in alignment with ISO 9001 standards. Lead ISO 9001 compliance efforts within the Purchasing Department, serving as the department’s main point of contact during ISO 9001 audits and maintaining documentation to support audit readiness.
• Ensure all purchases align with the Delegation of Authority Matrix and support overall budget compliance and financial stewardship.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supply chain operations.
• Able to communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and in conversation, to work effectively with team members and customers.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including functions, formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis to support reporting and decision making.
• Strong math skills with the ability to analyze numerical data, perform calculations, and apply quantitative reasoning to support business decisions.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays as needed.
Some college and/or two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in purchasing, inventory control, and manufacturing environments. APICS or CPM certification is a plus.
