Job Family Summary Purpose

Under the general supervision of the Manager – Energy Supply Reliability, the Project Manager – Energy Supply (PM) is responsible for project and training coordination, implementation, tracking, and execution, as well as assisting in economic studies and project evaluations, project management, reliability and condition assessments, compiling and analyzing raw data, and software application oversight and operational administration. The PM shall assist in the development of and/or improvement of processes, standards, procedures, and tools to ensure robust process controls and improve efficiencies and/or equipment reliability through process improvement or training. The PM shall support regulatory compliance and oversight of power plant NERC and financial reporting, as well as the development, coordination, tracking, and maintenance of the continuous training program for Energy Supply. The PM position requires project management skills to implement process improvements or deploy tools.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Business, Data Management, Data Analytics, or equivalent combination of related training and experience. Project Management Certification, preferred.

Experience

- 1 - 3 or more years’ experience


Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Utility experience in the areas of power generation, project management, contract negotiations, and/or other closely related fields.

- Knowledge of power generation principles, practices, and policies, power generation operations, technical training programs, contract development, negotiation techniques, data analysis and transformation, and economic analysis is required.

- Strong experience with technical writing, including documenting processes and developing training materials, job aids, preparation of contractors and/or statements of work, preparation of technical specifications, or operation manuals.

- Technical knowledge and skills to provide asset management support services to Power Generation business units.

- Experience in the development and maintenance of technical training programs.

- Ability to develop and facilitate training through subject matter experts, in-house or via vendors, as well as deliver instructor-led training and monitor any other training venue.

- Knowledge of economic analysis, negotiating techniques, and contract/agreement preparation required. Project evaluation required.

- Experience in an analyst capacity to include experience preparing reports, performing analysis, and project oversight, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Knowledge of analysis, data collection techniques, documentation compilation,g and retrieval systems.

- Knowledge of research methods, statistical applications, analysis of variation, preparation of reports, meeting facilitation, and presentations.

- Ability to research and prepare written reports, analyze and interpret data.

- Ability to operate a personal computer and various software applications (Word, Excel, Access), analyze statistical data, perform mathematical computation, develop, organize, and prepare statistical reports.

- Experience with technical writing, including documenting processes and developing project documents, user manuals, job aids, training materials, reports, or operation manuals.

- Knowledge of database structures for the use of process improvement, development, and oversight initiatives.

- Must have the ability to operate a personal computer, a learning management system (LMS), and various applications like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint effectively.

- Must be self-motivated to problem solve, meet project goals, and meet deadlines with minimum oversight.

- Must have effective team building, verbal and written communication skills to document effectively projects, and results for management review and potential regulatory oversight.

- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with executives, managers, fellow employees, and the general public.

- Ability to maintain a strong sense of propriety concerning confidential matters.

- Ability to work non-standard hours.


Essential Job Functions

- Works with all three local generation plants to run and support projects, training analysis, and data analysis support.

- Coordinates regulatory information gathering and filing for all generation facilities.

- Connects with internal stakeholders and liaises with subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand project needs, outcomes, attend project meetings, and complete related assigned project work.

- Coordinates training cycles for Energy Supply to include new and ongoing equipment training, and assesses needs for and plans, develops, coordinates, delivers, monitors, and tracks training programs.

- Designs and prepares operational manuals, user aids, project design documents, reports, and other written materials as needed.

- Stays abreast of current trends in power generation, project management, training and evaluation methods, techniques, and practices.

- Analyzes the impact of changes to business needs, resources, requirements, or timelines and adjusts program and approach, accordingly, following sound project and change management principles.

- Assist the Asset Management department in developing and implementing all components of asset management strategies and plans.

- Coordinate with plant operations to perform multi-disciplinary field inspections of power plant systems/equipment and develop short and long-term recommendations related to asset management.

- Develop and implement appropriate infrastructure condition assessment and risk assessment processes and procedures. Establish rehabilitation and replacement priorities for assets based on economic and non-economic criteria.

- Assist with the development of project cost estimates, economic cost-benefit, and performance of alternative analyses.

- Prepare effective reports and presentations addressing complex technical issues to an audience with limited technical knowledge.

- Ability to request and review proposals for goods and services and prepare statements of work.

- Evaluate power generation asset management activities, including asset inventories, technology support criticality, condition, and remaining useful life, repair and renewal needs, and cost projections.

- Aid in the development of service levels, performance measures, data requirements, and business process improvement initiatives.

- Must be able to support the selection and deployment of information technology applications, especially enterprise asset and maintenance management systems (EAMS/CMMS) and complementary technologies (e.g., GIS, CCTV, mobile, business intelligence, condition analytics, and capital project management)

- May work in a team and/or stand-alone setting, so self-motivation, attention to detail, and teamwork skills are essential in meeting deadlines and developing positive section functionality.

- Complies with all applicable Company policies, procedures, and code of ethics as well as all applicable governmental laws and regulations, including employment, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.

- Perform other related tasks that are not included, but are within the context of the duties defined.

- Valid driver’s license and be in compliance with the Company’s Driving Program policy.
