Location: Dallas, TX (Supports multiple projects; travel as needed)
The Project Controls Specialist supports Schwob’s project teams through consistent cost and productivity tracking, forecasting, schedule maintenance, and change management. The Specialist ensures that all project data in Procore, Spectrum, and SharePoint is accurate, current, and aligned with Schwob’s standards. This role works directly with multiple Project Managers, providing reliable reporting that supports timely and informed decision making.
- Cost Tracking & Forecasting
- Establish and maintain project budgets and WBS structures within Procore and Spectrum.
- Track actual costs against budget and support required forecast updated
- Prepare variance explanations and assist in cost to complete projections.
- Change Management
- Log and maintain all potential and approved change orders with supporting documentation in appropriate applications.
- Coordinate with Project Controls Manager to ensure all changes are captured and reported.
- Support PMs in preparing client change order documentation and cost impact summaries.
- Scheduling
- Update project schedules in MS Project, Procore, and/or Primavera P6 as directed by Project Manager.
- Track milestone progress and flag variances for review.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Generate weekly and monthly project reports for PM and Operations review.
- Ensure proper file management, naming conventions, and version control in SharePoint and Procore in conjunction with company document control standards.
- Support PM(s) with accurate, formatted data for client and internal reporting.
- Coordination
- Manage assigned workload across multiple active projects.
- Coordinate with PMs, and other departments to ensure data consistency.
- Escalate issues or discrepancies to the Project Controls Manager in a timely manner.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or 3-5 years of relevant field experience in cost tracking, project controls, or scheduling.
- Experience with Procore and SharePoint
- Experience with Spectrum or similar ERP systems
- Strong proficiency with MS Excel and other office products
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Analytical mindset with the ability to identify and correct data inconsistencies.
- Effective communication and coordination across project teams.
- Time management and prioritization across multiple assignments.
