POSITION: Project Accounting Assistant

Founded in 2014, DWS Energy is a rapidly expanding, multi-disciplinary electrical construction company focused on electrical pre-fabrication services in our UL-508A certified panel shop, commercial industrial controls wiring, and utility-scale solar and battery storage (new construction and operations & maintenance). The organization has expanded its service offerings throughout its tenure and continues to grow at an accelerated rate.

OVERVIEW: The Project Accounting Assistant provides essential support to both the Accounting and Operations by ensuring accurate financial documentation, maintaining organized records, and facilitating smooth project workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

DUTIES: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Accounting Assistant may include but is not limited to:

- Review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with issued Purchase Orders and complete data entry into AP system.

- Assist with Certificates of Insurance for clients and from vendors/subcontractors

- Maintain job and accounting folders in SharePoint server storage

- Input contracts, purchase orders, and project budgets derived from the scope of work provided by project management

- Assist with submittal of project start-up and close-out documents requested by client

- Respond to internal and external emails and calls in a timely manner

- Maintain appropriate documentation for procedures and processes

- Manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines at the same time

- Backup for other team members, as needed

- Attend team, department, and company meetings and trainings

- Additional support tasks for Accounting and Project Management groups as needed

QUALIFICATIONS: The following are required skills and qualifications:

- 2+ years of professional related experience in project cost accounting or project administration

- Should have strong computer skills including typing and 10-key and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel

- Able to learn new software quickly

- Must be professional and articulate in both verbal and written communication

- Highly organized with keen attention to detail.

- Work well within a team

REQUIREMENTS: The following are physical requirements:

- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

- Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds (e.g., files, office supplies).

- Ability to communicate effectively in person, over the phone, and via email.
